My message is simple: the brain and nervous system dictate ALL functions of the body and if working optimally, gives you the best chance of staying healthy.

I use the most contemporary, evidenced-based approaches of applied clinical neuroscience to rehabilitate nervous system function: first identifying sub-optimally functioning or injured neurological pathways through a comprehensive examination and diagnostic procedures and then utilizing principles of neuroplasticity to optimize their function.  This is accomplished through what are called “receptor-based” or “brain-based” therapies.  You can get an explanation of these by clicking here.

I specialize in addressing the brain’s involvement in not only injury of all types, like concussion and post concussion syndrome, but it’s relationship to your overall health and bodily function.  Some of the most common conditions presenting to my office besides pain conditions related to the SPINE are vertigo and dizziness, neuropathy, headaches, and chronic pain syndromes like fibromyalgia. Chronic degenerative neurological diseases like Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, early Alzheimer’s and dementia also respond well to our conservative approach.

At the top of the page under “Conditions Treated”, you will find some of the most common problems my patient’s present with: lumbar disc pain and sciatica, thyroid related conditions, blood sugar disturbances, digestive conditions (gastrointestinal), chronic fatigue, and insomnia to name but a few. Very commonly, people present with sports related injuries such as shoulder and rotator cuff syndrome, knee pain, foot and ankle pain, and hip pain.

To fully address the patient’s entire health picture, I also use principles of Functional Medicine (Functional Nutrition) to address the essential and crucial nutritional needs of the brain, nervous system and other bodily functions. An optimally functioning nervous system requires proper fuel (oxygen and glucose) and needs to be operating within an environment free from inflammation.
